Google No Longer Most Visited Site On The Web

computerFor as long as many us can remember, Google has been the most visited site on the web.  You may recall, that during Christmas & New Years Day, Facebook was the most visited site for the day, but Google quickly took that spot back.

However, HitWise said during March 7 and March 13 Facebook surpassed Google as the most visited site in the US, and the trend looks like it will continue.  For the past year, Facebook’s popularity has continued to grow, while Google’s ranking has remained on a stable path.  (more…)

Internet Users Spend Most Time On Facebook

facebook-generic-pic-rex-features-615598689How much time do you think you spend on the computer a month? Do you spend the majority of your time updating your status and poking your friends on Facebook?  If you’re like the average American, you do. 

The folks over at Nielsen have released yet another interesting survey which shows how much time we spent online in January and where we visited.  Surprisingly, the average US Internet user, spent more time on Facebook than Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Microsoft, Wikipedia and Amazon combined.  In fact, the average American spent 7 hours, 1 minute and 41 seconds on the social network (that’s the equivalent of 14 minutes or so a day).  That’s a major jump from Nielsen’s June 2009 survey, when at the time the average Facebook user only spent 4 hours, 39 minutes and 33 seconds on the site. Report States Online Marketing Video’s On The Rise

Movie Icon: RSSTurn Here, an Online Video Production, Advertising and Distribution company, released the results of a recent survey about companies using Online Video’s for marketing.  The company surveyed 116 companies, which ranged from Fortune 500 companies, to PR and digital agencies, and traditional regional based companies.

Overall the report states that video through the web is increasingly becoming an important online marketing tool to reach out to clients.  83.5% of those surveyed have said they are already using some sort of online video marketing.  Companies however were split when it came to what type videos they produce.  Roughly 57.3% said they have created branded videos, content produced for companies to showcase their products or services, while 38.7% have created editorial content for their website.  (more…)
