Your Twitter Account Could Go Bye-Bye
By Kyle Aevermann In Social MediaIf you don’t log into your twitter account often, you may want to change that. At least if you want to keep your Twitter user name. Martin Bryant, writer for The Next Web, contacted Twitter’s headquarters, and the company says they plan to recycle all inactive accounts soon.
“We reached out to Twitter for comment…and a spokesperson for the company told me that the company plans to release all inactive user names and deleted user names in the future but doesn’t have a date set yet,” said Bryant.
That means if you haven’t logged into your account within the past 6 months, the micro blogging service will terminate your account and will allow someone else to take the user name. This is expected to cause some pandemonium among the Twitter community, since there are many “hot listed” names which have been inactive for quite some time.
Again, Twitter has not announced when this recycling system will take place, but many expect it to be within the next few weeks to months.
